Preparing for outside

I have started to walk my pup around the house with his lead on to prepare him for outside this weekend. However, he seems to like holding the lead in his mouth and I can't seem to stop him doing it. Any tips?

Hmmm, maybe spray it with bitter apple??? Max did put his in his mouth a few times, but it doesn't seem to be a problem with him. How old is the puppy?

My dog almost always carries the leash in his mouth. Especially when we go past other dogs or something he doesn't like. Personally, if he isn't chewing or pulling hard on it, I don't think its much of a worry. But if it bothers you, perhaps trying a harness would work, or something that keeps the leash away from his head, so he isn't tempted.

This is very very common small puppy behaviour. I tend to agree with the above comment, if he isn't really chewing or yanking then ignoring it and continuing to walk forwards is a good option. Most puppies if not encouraged will simply grow out of this behaviour.
