I've lost beloved pets in my life, and I feel your pain:(
But the love between pet and owner never dies even after death, it's like losing one of your children. For this my prayers go out to everyone of you grieving over your loss. Don't stop loving or accepting a new pet in your life. It certainly doesn't replace the friend you lost, but love lives on. the lord gave us the richest gift of all which is to love and be loved. I pray your hearts will mend, and in time you can love again.
