This post is a way for all of us to share our resources for finding

Rescue Shelters
adoptable animals
local Humane Society's
and other helpful informationBy far, my favorite site is: PetFinder.com
You can enter a zipcode and select search criteria to aid in finding you the perfect dog, cat, reptile, horse, etc. The shelters supply pics of their adoptive pets with descriptions of each.

Many shelters have "Shelter Homepages" on behalf of PetFinder.com where you can view all the pets they have to offer, find out more about the Shelter, and fill out an application form for adopting.

I'm sure we will all benefit from these resources for finding adoptable pets:)

Great post.:)

Rescue dogs are a soft spot of me considering Jenna is a rescue.

Many breed organizations also have rescues. To find these go to the breed organization. For example, The Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada, they have links on their website to rescues through out the country for Doberman Pinschers.
