Excitement when putting on the lead

My 8mth old gets over excited when i take her for a road walk on her own and nips me when i put the collar over her head. Nver had one do this before how can i nip it in the bud early???;)

Does she like going for walks?

If she does, when she nips you while putting the color on, yipe like a puppy and walk away for a little bit. That way, she gets the message, "If I nip mom, I don't get to go for a walk."

Yes she loves going out for walks. However most times shes off lead with the others as they all go off in the car.to the woods. Maybe its the excitement of going off on her own.Thanks Becky will have a go with that. x
