Hi me and Shelby Hope you don't mind me asking but here in the UK as far as I am aware there are four types of Belgian Shepherd they are Long Haired - Groenendael and Teruerven, short haired Malinois and the Rough Haired Lakenois. I personally have not heard of a Shiloh Shepherd but from the picture you submitted it looks a beautiful breed. Is it know by any other name as well do know? Really I am just curious.

You are quite right about their being 4 types Borzoi mad...thank you for bringing up the other two:) As far as the Shiloh Shepherd, the first time I ever saw this breed was when I was looking at magazines in the book store and picked up a dog one. I was looking in it and came across this breed and thought "oh how beautiful it is" :)

If you are interested in learning more about them there is a great site you can visit, it is www.shilohshepherds.org (http://www.shilohshepherds.org)...from there you can go learn a great deal about the breed and how it was created. Here is the link for the history on them http://www.shilohshepherds.org/kennelof.htm

There is also a link for a list of Licensed Breeders...very important since there are people out there that sell "fake" Shiloh Shepherds.

----------- Had to add -------------
Here is a great link for a photo gallery of all the types of Shiloh Shepherds!

I forgot about the beautiful doberman and boxer :) My grandparents had a boxer when I was little his name was Loppy. What a kewl dog... course, I don't know how he would have been to take care of all I knew is that I loved him. My brother used to have the most wonderful Dobie. Clyde was an oustanding example of the breed on all levels. I have never owned either breed but sure was impressed with the ones I was exposed too.

I'm not very dog savvy, but here goes!
1. We had a beautiful husky when I was a kid. He had pretty blue eyes. I remember him running me across the snowy field one day when he was on leash.
2. I saw a very darling labradoodle at my vets office. She was young, cute, and very friendly.
3. I currently have a Catahoula, so that's gotta be on my list ;). He's very sweet and easy to train so far.
4. And the neighbor dog (who is my guy's best buddy) is a Rodesian Ridgeback.
5. And we've always wanted a grayhound because they are so beautiful. That may be our next pet - but we'll have to give it another couple of years before that happens. We're up to 4 pets and 2 young kids - so have our hands full.
