did God give them such long, beautiful reddish-blond fur on their BUTTS?!?
If I had hair like that on my HEAD I would be the star or L'OReal commercials. Instead, Sophia uses that fur to bring back twigs and leaves from the forest!

Heh, I totally know how you feel :p Joys of a golden retriever, lol. Worst part about it brushing their 'pants' out.

You know what they say Skunkstripe "The best things in Life Are free"
but along with the twig entwined beautiful reddish brown fur on their butts they also bring you back love and affection. but you know that better than I do.

Try brushing the butt of a aussie GSD mix! Much, much, worse then our golden.

I'm starting to relate to that problem. Ozzy is 10 months old & his coat is just now really starting to come in thick.

Thanks! We're very proud of him. He was 8 months old in that photo ... just turned 10 months.
We're training in obedience now. We completed his Beginner class in late November & started Novice I last month. We're looking forward to obedience trials & having lots of fun in training now. Woohooo, we did our very first in-class (with all the other dogs present) off-lead healing on Monday & he was "spot on" perfect. Here's hoping his enthusiasm for obedience work continues.

I know--she starting to get the big but hair too---which sucks because she is a mud lover. Bath time is REAL fun....

Aww, adorable pictures! I love Golden Retrievers. They're a wonderful breed.
Hehe, I don't have to brush out the long red hair on Colbi's butt. Her's is short and black. :p

Giana has the coloring of a golden retriever, and also has the butt hair problem. Luckily we haven't had a poo problem yet, but she is so close to the ground that after any walk her tummy is always dirty! Once it gets warmer (which in Michigan is another 3 months) I will probably get her cut short.
A quick power wash and that dog is fine then....:)
My goofy girl actually seeks out mud like it is a prize or something....(notice the formerly pink groomers scarf)
