i have a coydog
my baby is half coyote half austrailian sheapeard. she is a rescue. Our old neighbors owned her mom, and didn't want the resulting "mutt" so we took her.

She is only 16 months old,(we resued her at 3 months) but she is great, a big lover and doesn't (can't) bark.

She is really smarty too, she can open and close doors (we have a string with a ball hanging for her to pull), and can bring you things like "phone", "ball", "purse".

It has taken us a while to get her to this point though. She was abused as a baby because "she had ruined one of her moms litters" she was tied to a tree outside and they hardly fead her, never played with her or walked her. She was skin and bones when we got her. She was also scared of almost everything. She even started crying when you would put food in her bowl. She would cry if you pulled out a leash, cryed when you used the sink or flushed the toilet. etc.

We took her to a vet, and got her shots, she was too unhealthy to get spayed so we had to wait a couple months. We have lovingly and slowly nurtured her back to health. She is now even a little chunky. She is still scared of loud noises.

I believed that taking her to the dog park really helped her. The first couple of times she just sat there, then she began playing but since she was extremely submissive she got attacked a couple of times. She now plays great. I think the other dog "parents" helped a lot too. People at the park are always friendly and pet her and stuff. She also loves going to the pet store. Most times i let her carry her new toy to the car. She walks so proud.
She spends a lot of time with me. She follows me all over the house, and comes to work with me. (I only work 3 days a week.) She started "helping" with stuff when she was about 7 or 8 months old. She would see me and my husband but her bowl in the sink when she saw done, then she started pushing her bowl right next to the sink when she was done. She also started dragging the grocery bags from the entrance hallway to the kitchen. I was so impressed i praised her and gave her a treat everytime she would do it. She started standing up and pawing the door in order to open it so we added the pull strings. She just started trying to paw the lights on and off, the problem is that when she wants a treat she'll just turn it off so you'll give her a treat.

She is a lot of work though, she has tons of energy, wakes us up by 7am. wants to play all day, she has a toy box and drops toys in front of you when your not giving her full atention. The "chores" she does help her get tired. Plus she seems happy "helping" us.

By far the smartest and most loyal dog i've ever had, even if she is a Hybread.:D
