Hi Katch - what lovely dogs - and yes I saw Ned - how is he today? Still behaving himself. The dog you have rehomed is not the same dog you'll have in 6 months time - he'll be awesome then!

Hi Great pics of your lovely Ned, as Carole says give it a few months and you will have an entirely different dog. Hope he is improving. Good luck with him. There are some really gorgeous dogs on that website. It makes me wish I could help them all.

He is a star. We went to a GRWE meet and greet today where loads of grey's (and other sighthounds not to mention a couple of other dogs) all meet ina village hall (oh yeah and there owners!) It was really great Ned and I met loads of like minded dogs (and people), bought some sweeties and a huge dog bed for £10! Was well pleased and all the profits go to GRWE so it's all good.

Ned coped beautifully and took it all in his stride! We tried on some coats and although i didn't have money with me at the time I can now order them because I know the right size :)

I'm sulking with him though because he wont chew his nylabone :(

He licked it a bit then got bored, stupid dog wont chew ;)

Anyway he is lovely and i love him to bits.

He is asleep right now (obviously!) but I'm sure if he was awake he would ask me to say hi to you and Jake!

Oh and Jake would say Hi to him Katch. I bet they'd have a great time running around together. Apparently way way back when IWS were bred from greyhounds and something else.

Glad you now know his size - still think the pink wooly sheep number would be nice - oh - hubby won't let me buy it for him - he says he'll look too gay and people will laugh at him (as if he cares).

Anyway I'd say hi to Ned and give him a burns fish treat (the fish skins) bet he'd love them!

He's such a handsome fellow. Try other chew toys. I've had some that did not like nylabones, but did great with compressed rawhide or Kong chew bones.

Have to say Katch that my boys are the same will not touch Nylabones but there are plenty of other toys and treats and bones out there. Mine love pigs ears.

ewwww pigs ears! (sorry i know alot of people use them and their dogs love them- but its a big sacrafice for me to open a can of tuna for him (I'm a veggie) I could just about cope with bones but I'm worried about getting safe ones. I'd like to get some of the white sterilised filled ones but i can only find little ones and i dont know if he'd be ok with them or if they would be too small. These are the only bones ive personally used that dont break up (But I've only used a few types) and i dont really know where to go and get them.

I'm nervous about rawhide because my friends GSD got some stuck in the back of his mouth and had to go the vet to have it taken out- i know this is just one bad experience but im a little nervous about it.

He's also got a 'wiggly giggly' which is a dumbell shaped chew toy with knobbly bits all over it which makes a giggly noise when you shake it- he barely even sniffed this and if i throw it for him he looks at me blankly- lol

He seems to like rope toys though so i will get him a proper one of those instead of one from the pound shop :)

He has a daily dental chew each night aswell and when he gets a bit better with me around his mouth i will brush his teeth so im not worried about that. I guess he's just not a chewy dog :P

Maybe he isn't a chewy dog, now, but give him a chance to blossom a bit.

Compressed rawhide is not the same as a plain, rawhide chew. It is little bits of rawhide pressed together to make a chew toy, and is very durable. When it does break up, it breaks up into small pieces that can be swallowed and digested/passed.

You could always try him on bully sticks, but as a veggie, you might not like that.

Katch - know where you are coming from re. meat. I know you are compassionate and wonder if you'd consider the Burns hide treats (I think they are made from a bulls penis) - at least you know that the bull has been treated humanely. (Just a thought)
