Has anyone here used a dry shampoo on their dogs? Would you recommend it? I was thinking of something for the cold, winter months.......:confused:

I tried it on Jake and he itched - but he has sensitive skin.
Couldn't you bath and hairdry?

How do you use the hair dryer? I know how to use one, but is there a special way to use it on a dog?

A product called Bio Groom Whitener White on White is really good for keeping the white parts white spray on leave for 5/10minutes then brush out thoroughily. Good for the odd time between shampooing, but I still feel there is nothing to beat a proper doggy shampoo and on the odd ocasion blow dry. When using the dryer its just like using it on your own hair but do not get too close to the dog if long-haired or semi long-haired breed I would brush as I use the hairdryer. Remember though that when bathing a dog you should first groom well and remove all tangles before shampooing. Hope this helps.

Thanks Borzio, yes I always used to groom my sheltie before bathing. I just wasn't too sure about the blow dryer as I had only used it on him a few times.
Don't want to break any grooming rules! LOL.....:laughingsmiley:

Its fine to use the dryer but not too often as I feel if used too much it dries out the coat even if you used loads of doggie conditioner.

dry shampoos are ok. i too use it for whitening.
i always blow dry the dog with the the coat brushed towards his head, if you get my drift.

In the UK you can from a Company called Hub international ( that's were I get mine) but you could google it and see what comes up I am sure there must be loads of places that do a dry shampoo. I think Hub sent to the USA. but not certain. Hope this helps.
