On another forum, someone is letting go of their JR puppy, 9 1/2 week old because they realise they can't make the time..... :(
They are in Lancashire, UK. PM me if you want to know more.

This is so sad. It does make me mad in a way. Why adopt a puppy if you can't make the arrrangements and make sure you can look after him BEFORE getting the puppy.

Poor little guy. Well, I'd have to say that I'd rather see them come to the realization that they can't properly care for the dog at this very young age than find out months down the road that he's been neglected. After a bad start, he'd likely end up in a shelter. At this age, somebody will jump at the chance to give him all the love & care he needs.

I'll give them 1/2-Kudos for realizing they're not the best humans for the job. I hope he finds his new forever home soon. Good luck.

Hey Lassie, I would have taken him if I could, but with 2 6-month old JRs, I don't think I can handle a puppy right now. And my partner is not keen on a third dog.

I suppose you are right, KatzNK9, best they do it while he still young.

The other week, I heard a horror story about a 10 week old puppy being thrown out of a car on a street. A girl in the park rescued him, he's now 2 year old.

All ends well! The owners have decided to work it out and have found a kennel that does day care. They couldn't bear to let their puppy go in the end. I am so pleased!

Sorry maybe I didn't make myself clear, they are keeping him! They will put him in the kennel/day care only two or three times a week, from what I gather, when they are out at work.

Very glad to hear they decided to keep him & find a solution. Sounds to me like they had some early puppy frustration that we all get when we're at our wits' end trying to cope. If they are going to the extent of puppy day care, it sounds to me that they're willing to put for the effort to make a commitment to their new little JR.
