Second would have to be the Rhodesian Ridgeback.

I like collies, but mongrels are the best, too. I mean, people go for the pedigrees while the perfectly lovely crossbreeds/mongrels die because people throw them out or just overlook them for a puffy purebreed

Hi My favourite breed is golden retriever.
and 2nd is old english sheep dog
and then after that most big dogs and more hair the better. :D
I do like choclate labs to.

I don't know that I do have a favourite breed as such because I have had each of my dogs because I felt drawn to them as individuals at the time.....and they have been a German Shorthaired Pointer, a Dobermann, a German Shepherd and now a Border Collie.

In general, I suppose I really do like the look of dogs that come as close to looking "wolfy" or "foxy" such as my GSD and my foxy faced red and white collie but then again, I adored my Pointer and love my Dobe and I have a very soft spot for PUGS!!!! Yes, REALLY wolfy looking those adorable litle characters, huh ???:coolsmiley02:
Darn it, they ALL have their good points and I'd be hard pressed to name one breed above any other!!

I have so many favorites, I don't know where to start ... but here goes ... in alphabetical order ... LOL

Akita, American Staffordshire Terrier, Belgian Tervuren, Bloodhound, Boxer, Bullmastiff, Chinese Shar-Pei, Doberman, Dogue De Bordeaux, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Gordon Setter, Great Dane, Mastiff, Neopolitan Mastiff, Newfoundland, Rottweiler, Sheltie, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Vizsla, Weimerainer.

Guess I'm pretty well-rounded in my favorite breeds.

Its hard for me to pick JUST one breed.

Cocker Spaniels, Portuguese Water Dogs, Australian Shepherds, English Springer Spaniels, and English Cocker Spaniels are some of my most favorite breeds.

I've only had two dogs, so I don't really have a favorite breed that I've owned. Gino was a silky terrier, which I enjoy because it is a less common breed.

I pretty much love all toy breeds! I do have a thing for pomeranians :) I am a total small dog girl.

I absolutely love the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. It's my secret dream...:D

Another favourite breed of mine is the White Swiss Shepherd (or White German Shepherd, as it's also called. The FCI recognized this breed a few time ago, I don't know the situation of the breed there in USA...). I prefer the long coated version, but there is the short coated as well…I'll go get my puppy next year :D

Altdeutsche Schaferhund (Long Coated German Shepherd, or Ancient German Shepherd…for the FCI, long coat is considered a fault, so these dogs are disqualified from expos.) This breed also include the Black German Shepherd.

Rough Collie and Border Collie, I love them as well, more because of their character…:rolleyes:




Anyway, I just love Shepherds in general!

The "designer breeds" found at your local shelter, there've been wonderful dogs where I volunteer.

Also love: Ibizan Hound, pharaoh hound, Saluki, Bozoi, Bernese Mountain dog, Golden Retriever, GSD, Labs, Huskys, Eskimos, Weimers, Collies, Aussies, Shelties, Border Collies, Portuguese Water dog, Laekenois, Malinois, Tervueren, Pyrenean sheepdog, Whippet, Pomeranian, Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Shiba Inu, Italian Greyhound, Min Pin. Now as I said above my favorite is DOGS. so I could go on but your lucky:D I'm fading :sleepysmileyanim:

The Collie Family (i.e. Rough and Smooth Collies, Aussies, Shelties, Border Collies). The only breeds that make me feel emotional. I love their beauty, grace, intelligence, sensitivity, ability to get along with kids and pets, loyalty and ease of training. My heart goes wild every time I see one, whether on screen or in the park. :D

I like shepherds in general! The way they look at you, the relationship they build with their owner is special, deep, full of understanding. They know what you want and what you think before you speak, they obey before you ask, the have total faith in you, but their faith always comes from respect. There’s something in the way a shepherd looks at its owner you cannot find in any other kind of dog, I think! They look at every move you make, every breath you take, your every step, even when you don’t know or you don’t notice, even when it seems they are doing something else…because every moment of their life is centred on you, every move they make, they make it for you and because of you, it amazing and exhilarating!!! And this may be true for dogs in general, but with shepherds it’s even more true!;)

Anyway, if I have to list my favourite breeds in order of preference, here they are:

Czechoslovakian Wolf-dog
Work line German Shepherd
Ancient German Shepherd
Rough Collie
Malinois Belgian Shepherd
Border Collie
Groenendael Belgian Shepherd

I hope one day I’ll have time and money to breed, that’s my dream!
I’d like to breed White Shepherd to develop a solid blood line, both beautiful for show and functional for work! And I want to breed Czechoslovakian Wolf-dog too, to give my contribute to create a more stable and easy to handle generation, to correct all the sharp corners this young but captivating breed still displays…

Do you think I’m a fool? Maybe I am, but it’s necessary to have a dream…:D

I don't really have a 'favorite' breed because I've only ever owned my Alaskan Husky and she's a special case so I can't judge all huskies by her standards, lol. I'd have to say though that I adore huskies and someday I'd like to own more :)

I also like Golden Retrievers a lot but I've never owned one.

My favourite breed is the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. They always will be.

Closely followed by them are Belgian Shepherds (Groenendael & Tervuren). There are others too, of course, but those are my top two favourites.
