I want to start giving my dog some vitamins or supplements. Can anyone give me some recommmendations on what brands I should use. Also, should I take him to the vet before giving him these supplements, or is it alright if I just started giving it to him?

Hi yer , what supplements and vitamins were you thinking of giving and for what reason. Only a lot of complete foods already have vitamins etc added. I was wondering do you have homeopathic vets out there?

My goldens are age==Buck, 11 on Feb. 8, KayCee will be 7 on Aug. 19, and Honey turned 4 Dec. 7. Every day they each get a fish oil capsul and an EsterC tab that I get from Walmart . Hubby and I take them out of the same bottles as the dogs. The dogs also get a Dr. Foster & Smith vitacap multivitim capsul every day as well (hubby and I take human ones).

If you are feeding kibble ( commercial foods ) then you really should not supplement without your vets advice. Supplementation can be very bad if you do not know the precise amounts that are in your bag of dog food.
Vit A can cause toxicity in dogs when overfed-- for example.
Consult your vet.
