I just saw an ad for "World's Best" cat litter made from ground up corn kernels. What do the cat folks on the forum think of that? I bet my cat would start doing his business outside of the box if I put ground up corn kernels in his litter box!

I just went to this site: http://www.worldsbestcatlitter.com/products/world_best_cat_litter.php?PHPSESSID=0030e7dbc9280b c61fd76adc7fb633a7
and watched their product video. It looks pretty close to regular litter to me & I think mine would use it just fine. I like to scoop & change my often so I just buy the cheap depot clay litters so I wouldn't spend any extra money for it.

I like to scoop too so I like my clumping cat litter.
I was wondering though if the cat litter is what has my one cat's nose all runny ?!?!

This type of cat litter can attract insects as well as vermin because of what its made of. They use something similar as speedy dry for soaking up car oil spills. The stuff used in the automotive field blows around very easily, just needs a light breeze.

Sandi, I'd definitely try a new litter! Is this the same cat we've been talking about? I've known several cats who were allergic to high dust litters and/or the scoopable brands ... and even one who was allergic to the regular clay litter. The symptoms ranged from runny noses to swelling of the face/neck & closing of the esophagus. I'd test some other varieties of litter for at least several weeks to see if there is improvement.

I changed the type of cat litter i use a couple of months ago because i just was happy with the any of the Tidy Cats litter. So i changed to Feline Pine! Its new! On the bag it say "Destroys Odor and its Silica Dust Free". Dobermans...the Silica Dust might be whats making your cat have a runny nose! Feline Pine is Veterinarian Recommended and is Environmentally Compatible! Its website is http://www.felinepine.com if anyone wants to check it out!

I did alot of research on litters.. and I realllyyyyy Dont like clay litters... they arent healthy for the cat, with all the dusts and stuff.. and the Recycled paper ones I tried.. that STUNK... after about 4day.. at most.. with one cat... I had to change the whole box. But I found I Like a brand Called "Sweat Scoop" made with wheat.. Which was good for Kittens. *Which I Had at the time* cause they like to eat the litter.. so it wasnt bad for them.. there was no dust to make the Nose runny, or anything.. and I wasn't allergic to it.. *Dust Allergies* ... And i Have seen the Corn ones.... And I dunno, just don't feel like something I would put in a box.

I don't care for the clay litter either, but it seems that cats are fussy about LITTER in addition to everything else. Mine will not go in the box if there is Feline Pine in there. :( A darn shame because I would rather use that than the clay.)
The only thing he will pu up with is the Tidy Cats of cheap clay litter.
