View Full Version : Why can't I put an animated GIF in my signature?

I was trying to put an animated gif that I found at a free clip art site
http://www.animation-station.com/butterflies/
into my signature...after submitting it the page says :
1. BB code color is not allowed.
2. BB code font is not allowed.

Is there some sort of workaround to this? I've seen animated gifs in other members signatures and would like to add one to mine as well :)
Please advise.

I've tried copy and pasting the gif...and pasting the link location to it...both don't work.

You might have to download it. If you don't have to the url should be as so:
http://www.animation-station.com/butterflies/images/bfly001.gif
If it's on your computer it might be something like C://my%20documents%20/butterfly.gif

I downloaded the gif...but the only way to get it into my signature is to replace my current signature pic (which is of shelby) and submit it.
Then it takes it. I guess you can't have two images in your signature in that manner.

what is the link to the gif file? maybe we can get the file for you.
Thanks Katz, but that isn't the problem. I can get the pic, its just that the forum is set to accept one image for a signature.

If anybody thinks of a workaround to this, let me know. I wanted to have my signature contain Shelby's pic and a butterfly (signifying the arrival of spring:) )

There's a limit as to the maximum size your signature pic can be. I don't think I can cram Shelby's signature (unless I reduce the size of it) and the animated gif into one pic, and still keep it in the sizing constraints.

Might consider it though...what do you all think of my signature now that Shelby's pic is gone? :o

I'm a Shelby fan too but her pic is in your avatar ... so, if that helps you decide ... LOL ... basically ... I dunno.

Hee hee, thanks Katz for helping me decide, lol :rolleyes: :D

When I get some time, maybe I'll come up with something that has Shelby & the butterfly...( I love Shelby more by the way;) )

Did you like it better with the 4 pics of Shelby or is this one okay?

I think it's perfect!!! We get to see Shelby and the butterfly!!!! Good job...I knew you'd figure something out to have both!!!!

I think I spend more time looking at the nice Av's love Katz one, so different and A for you today honey. I think a nice Av makes the person behind it, oooohhhhhhh maybe that was bad saying that as some are funny. I have to laugh, makes my day. lol.:D

Thanks Jan :)...I wasn't sure if maybe it was too cutesy...but I think I can be a little cutesy with it :D

I think I speak for everyone (sheplovr brought it up :)) ...We ALL LOVE Katz's signature pic....it is SOOOOO CUTE!!!
