Hi, can anyone help, I've just purchased a cavalier king charles (collect in april). he appears to have a pure white face, ie, no brown markings at all except for his ears, has anyone come across this before, I would love to know if there are any pictures out there as I don't know what he's going to look like, not that he's not adorable anyway, I'm just curious.
thanks

First of all WELCOME! I am sure he is adorable. Your question about the white on the head- here is the link to the AKC http://www.akc.org/breeds/cavalier_king_charles_spaniel/index.cfm which states " Color
Blenheim - Rich chestnut markings well broken up on a clear, pearly white ground. The ears must be chestnut and the color evenly spaced on the head and surrounding both eyes, with a white blaze between the eyes and ears, in the center of which may be the lozenge or "Blenheim spot." The lozenge is a unique and desirable, though not essential, characteristic of the Blenheim. Tricolor - Jet black markings well broken up on a clear, pearly white ground. The ears must be black and the color evenly spaced on the head and surrounding both eyes, with a white blaze between the eyes. Rich tan markings over the eyes, on cheeks, inside ears and on underside of tail. Ruby - Whole-colored rich red. Black and Tan - Jet black with rich, bright tan markings over eyes, on cheeks, inside ears, on chest, legs, and on underside of tail. Faults - Heavy ticking on Blenheims or Tricolors, white marks on Rubies or Black and Tans."
Just because he is mismarked does NOT take away from "cuteness!" CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW PUPPY! :band:

Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us. I don't know anything about the breed & I don't see many of them but would love to see pics of your new puppy when you get him.

I love cavaliers!!!

Dont worry, a lot of cavaliers have only the slightest brown on their face (it can look like they are wearing glasses, with the middle bit missing), so I guess he wont look too different. If you search on google for cavaliers you get loads of pics and I found one with a 'half mask' and he still looked like a cavvie. As long as the parents are heart and eye tested clear from healthy lines, sounds like gorgeous puppy!

I forgot to say, I once saw a litter of cavvies advertises, saying that one of the puppies was reduced as it wasnt show marked (it had a pure white face) so maybe you couldnt show your puppy, best look into it if you did wanna have a go at showing him in the future:)
