Any ACD lovers out there? Just seeing if anyone has one...

I have a red one named Romeo..he's 9 months old now. He's quite a character...I'm absolutely in love. I'm hoping to get started in obedience and agility classes soon. :)

I love them but I've never had one. I had a friend who had one years ago. She was a great dog.

Thanks for sharing Romeo's pic with us! Love his color! Nice lookin' dog!

He's a nice colour Areias.
I think I'm about the only guy in this town who doesn't own one of them.
There's plenty around here (well it is cattle country....lol)

I have an ACD x

I adore him, still can't believe anybody could have given him up to the SPCA when he was 9 months old.

Aww, great looking dogs everybody! I'm still in love with mine...haha, he is great. I would definately have another one-he's just a lot of fun. You know, I stumble across a lot of them, both mixes and purebreds, in shelters.

I adore him, still can't believe anybody could have given him up to the SPCA when he was 9 months old.

You know...I say the same thing about one of my other dogs, she might be a cattle dog mix I'm not sure, but she was 12 weeks when I got her from the shelter, and almost housebroken, didn't chew, didn't bark much...no clue why they would have dumped her there. ??

I am an ACD nut! I have a 7 year old blue heeler named Boudreaux (pic of him with his bear!) and a 4 year old red heeler named Evangeline. (We call her Tiny E) I adopted an 8 week old red heeler mix about 15 years ago from a shelter and at the time, I had no idea what kind of dog it was. When I found out he was an ACD mix, I was hooked! I don't think I'll ever own another breed. Boudreaux is a mix, and was adopted from a shelter, but Evangeline is a full blooded red!

Best dogs ever, IMO!

I imagine some would. I don't know any breeders here personally but there are a lot of ACDs around, seem to be very popular at the moment. I checked the NZ KC website and was surprised to see they only have one breeder listed

http://www.nzkc.org.nz/breedersclubs.html?dbase=504

Might be worth an email though...

thanks!

id email the breeder and hope i will be able to get a blue heeler pup imported in. :)

the ACD is popular in NZ? erm..then there should be some source where these puppies are coming from. maybe the breeders aren't registered with the NZ kennel club.

Yes, that is all I can assume, that most of the breeders aren't registered or haven't listed on the NZKC website?

my RA is aussie/heeler mix and I adore him!! He has the best personality and what a ball of energy! Good thing I have a large back yard for him to circle around in lol! He litteraly wore a path in the grass around the yard in a circle. He is 2yrs old now and I got him when he was 9 weeks old and he has been the joy of our lives ever since!

Here is the oh so rare pic of him sleeping. The pics usually come out blurry because he won't stand still!
