I went by a groomers earlier today and saw a sign for De-Shedding? I was curious so I looked it up on the internet when I got home and found out that it's a special shampoo they use that loosens the fur and then a special brush is used to pull out as much fur as possible. It's supossed to last for up to 3 months.

As an owner of 2 shedding dogs, I love the idea, BUT I'm not sure if it's ok for the dogs.

Has anyone had this done to their pet before and what did you think about it?

my friend was telling me about an additive or maybe the dog food itself... she gets it from the vet. it is suppose to cut down on the amount of shedding. she swears by it....

i saw som shampoo that does that but its really expensive, we groom a german shep and we just have to wash her more often to cut down on the shedding. it works quite well.

I use a small tool, called the shed-ender and I absolutly LOVE the way it works on my shelties, and they ARE shedding breeds, and I have a longhaired cat too, so I love the thing!
