Hi Forum!:)

I had a question.....what is the best way to remove these annoying matts:confused:

With Snickers, my 1st sheltie, we would just simply cut them. But then he looks slightly awkward. Basil had a very small one behind her ears. We groom her daily, so I don't know how she got it.

I don't want to just brush it out, wouldn't that hurt?:(

Some need to be cut out & some can be combed out. I use a stainless comb on the ones that can be combed & you just have to be patient & work from the outside of the bunched up hairs & slowly draw them out. Sometimes it helps to wet the area & put lots of conditioner (of course you have to rinse after the fact) on the section you're working on ... it often helps the comb slide through. Can be a long & tedious ordeal.
