My new dog (still unnamed) is a cross between a maltese and pekingese. Does anyone know if there is a coined term for this (you know, like puggle, labradoodle, etc)? I was thinking "maltinese". Any other suggestions?
This is what the rare maltinese looks like:

It is pretty much up to you what you call him. Naming crosses is a free-for-all since it is not regulated by any organization.

Thanks all! I figured there had to be a commonly accepted name as everyone is crossing dogs and demanding big bucks for them. "Peke-a-tese" is probably better since she looks a bit more like the pekingese as far as coloring and her muzzle. :)

Not going to happen till Mr. GP wises up and stops buying them cause they have been slapped with a cute name.
To the op
Your pup is cute it is what it is... a maltese/peke cross and that is how I would refer to it if I were you. It is people like you that can help educate the public.
