Dog’s severed head left on owner’s doorstep.
Minnesota police investigate pet’s beheading; humane society offers reward.
Updated: 1 hour, 1 minute ago
ST. PAUL, Minn. - A 17-year-old girl who spent weeks looking for her missing dog unwrapped a box left on her doorstep and found the pet's severed head inside, authorities said.
Homicide investigators were looking into the case because of the "implied" terrorist threat, St. Paul Police Sgt. Jim Gray said. The Humane Society of the United States said Wednesday it was offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
"This was extraordinarily heinous," said Dale Bartlett, the Humane Society's deputy manager for animal cruelty issues. "I deal with hundreds and hundreds of cruelty cases each year. When I read about this case, it took my breath away. It's horrible."

How can anyone do that to ANY living animal and then to be sadistic enough to post the head to the owner. If the person is ever caught and it was up to me he would be locked up for life as I don't believe anyone like that can be trusted.

:swearing: I'll volunteer for the second weeks' worth of 24/7 torture. Who's got the 3rd week?
There is just no explanation as to how or why the human race can stoop so low. I just can't believe it every time I read one of these stories.
I'll have the 3rd week
how horrible how can they do it.
Hubby just said he will take the 4th week

Some people can be so.. evil? I don't believe in a 'devil' but if their was one, it would definitly be whoever could mutilate a innocent dog and ploy around like that.

This part is so sick. What sort of a cruel...*
"Two weeks ago, a gift-wrapped box was left at the house Crystal shares with her grandmother. The box had batteries on top, and a note that said "Congratulations Crystal. This side up. Batteries included."
Crystal opened the box and found her dog's head inside. The box also contained Valentine's Day candy.
Crystal screamed when she saw her dog’s face."
Valentines day candy?!?!?! What sort of a sick joke does this person think this is?!?!?! :swearing:

If it were not for places like this forum, where we find the sentiments and beliefs that are here, it would be easy to believe from reading the papers, that it is all just unraveling.
Who could even think of it?..nevermind follow through. Frightening.

I agree with you on that or it could even be a girl pissed for taking her Boyfriend or something..I mean 17 Y/O girl..Also that guy or even girl has a good start to being a Serial Killer...If they find this person they should be prosecuted for a Hate Crime..Terrorist and animal cruelty...
I just came back from part two of dog training..We are doing Family training now..Then Good citizen then looking into Therapy training...When I showed this article we were all sick.

I saw this before...some people are absolutely disgusting-I have no words to describe whoever did this.
In the another article I saw, when it first came out, they called the police about it-and the police laughed and told them to throw it away. They were doing internal investigating regarding those officers. How could law enforcement not see that as a serious crime?
I HOPE THEY CATCH HIM!!

This is awful, torture is too good for who-ever did this.
We had a similar incident here in Derbyshire, last year with 2 pet rabbits. Someone decapitated them and left them behind the house. The little girl found them. We actually have a padlock on our rabbit hutch now! Whats it all coming to. It just makes you want to get your little pooch and hold it close, I cant imagine how horrific it would be to have that happen to you!

I posted a similar artical on another forum and I was in tears while reading it. I still get shivers and tears whenever hearing about it.
The person who did this had to be someone they knew.
The one thing I could think of was when Kiara went missing in September. The pain alone of having a missing companion is almost unbearable. I don't know what I would have done with myself if we found her this way.
For anyon who wants to write to Crystal and send your sympathies...
Here is a crosspost. I am not sure who the original author is.
Because this story "touched" me...I wanted to do something to help. Being that I am in Dallas TX....There wasn't much I could do. So, I contacted a reporter for the Minneapolis Star and Tribune and asked for her help.
She will deliver any cards or letter directly to Crystal.
Please...Lets show this sweet girl that the world does not have to be a terrible place and that LOTS of people do Care.
Here is the information:

Why?! why would anybody do that to an animal? And then, why would anybody do that to its owner. The poor girl. I'm not surprised she was hysterical, I would still be screaming. That is just.............so wrong. i was in tears, it's just so *$%^&* up.
Thank you for the info. I want to send her a card too

Just like to add unfortunatley in the papers yesterday an ex boyfriend of a dog owner took it upon himself to enter his ex's flat and attach her dog with an axe, spliting open it's head, he then proceded to shove an old valentines card into its mouth. The girl found her dog dead on her bed with fatal wounds and a flat coated in blood!
Some people are just sick!!, she said the dog would have greeted this guy wagging his tail as he knew him, at present he is at large but when found will be prosecuted!!, and so he should be, she is left with no pup and to explain to her child what has happend.
It's truly awful
My husband never understood the relationship between man & dog before & how someone could be so upset by a pets death, he was upset by this report as he now realises (we both do), just how precious and loved our dear little pets are.
