Hello Everybody

Thank you for all the help and encouragement but I got some penicillian and syringes from our local feed store. I started giving her 1/2 ML injections inner muscle in the hind quarter rotating every other injection. The swelling started going down by the next day and after 5 shots her leg is completly healed. I know this must sound like complete horror to most but I saved my dog and she is still my dog for 8.50. I just got back on track with my commissions and took the poor abused animal to my vet. He commended me for using my head as well as my heart and not giving the dog up for destruction. He said my treatment was right on the money and that he could not have given the dog better care himself.

Thanks again for all your help and support and I will make sure to tell everybody I know to post here for good advice

The dog abuser:eek:

I'm so pleased to hear that your little boy is doing well, it must have been so hard to see him suffering :(
Wow, you were really brave to go for it like that with the antibiotics!! I don't know what I'd do in that situation....but hey, you saved your dogs life!! Well done :)

It is great to know that there are real people out there! I was getting worried because it is nice to be able to come somewhere for advice and support. When a family member is sick and you feel helpless it is a lonely feeling. I have to tell you after my first experience with my post I felt like taking my dog out in the woods and shooting us both. I mean no Vet would talk to me prior to me treating the dog for liability reasons ( I can understand that) In my line of work I jepordize my license 20 times a year to help people and never get a thank you; but I do not need one so its no big deal to me! No Vet would help me with out payment in full before they would even look at the dog. I did not have it at the time. So I looked to this forum for people just like you two to guide me but instead I got "well if you really cared for your dog you would kill it people and stop abusing it" But I have got you now! So thank you again and "God bless" and do not hesitate to call on me if you need anything.

Thanks
Kirt
