Hey,

I am thinking about getting a dog, but I am wondering which breed is fat and lazy? I like fat and lazy dogs... minimal hair, but not 'bald' would be nice as well.

I'm sure if you overfeed and exercise-deprive any breed of dog, it can become "fat and lazy." >X.x;<

You don't really mean that you want a dog that you can make fat do you? Because that would be unhealthy for the dog.

Now, if you mean you are looking for a couch potato breed (one that will lie around with you), I have heard that greyhounds like to lounge.

Any dog would require some amount of exercise though, like daily walks or a run in the park or field.

So basicly, there are no breeds that are 'fat' and 'lazy' by genetics? Other then the lazy part by the greyhounds?

There are breeds that are prone to obesity, if they aren't properly fed or exercised, yes. But any good dog owner or vet would strongly recommend for these breeds, that their weight is watched closely.

A fat dog is not a healthy dog. It opens doors for heart problems, joint and bone problems (early arthritis), etc. just as it does in humans.

sounds like you need a stuffed dog ;) if you are looking for one that requires miniumal exercise start doing your research for low energy dogs. i like high energy dogs that like to lounge when in ... mia the afghan has fit the bill really well :)

Yes... because this is what becomes of "fat lazy" dogs... this is what they have to go through.

Oh that makes me so sad :( Poor dog.
Chopes, do you mean something like a Bulldog? They still need some exercise but are typically a lazy breed. French bulldogs, as well, need minimal excercise and are cute. A Basset hound even, if you're willing to give them a short walk a day and/or playtime in the backyard...

yup i got a frenc bulldog, hes only a pup but hes already showing his lazy side haha, he plays and plays around till he gets tired very quickly then he just sits on he rug and sleeps...its pretty funny, but they eat well and everything, bulldogs r the best breed for what your looking for, and frenchies usually stay around 18-24 lbs average anything over 27 lbs is a disqualification

I dont agree that dogs should be allowed to become fat and lazy, as fat and lazy people are prone to illness and have shorter life spans, therefore imagine what it does to a dog which is half human size.

Yes I agree, it's no fun when you have a dog just laying around, not wantin' to play or doing nothing, just eat and sleep... good luck finding a breed like that

I own three Basset Hounds and they are certainly NOT what you are looking for. They require more exercise than most people think and when not exercised enough they tend to get into mischeif. They also shed very very much. Good luck finding what you are looking for because I can't think of any breed that fits that description.

Chopes if you are looking for a dog that won't be bugging you to go out for a 3 mile jog every evening have you considered adpoting an oldre dog? Sometimes these poor dogs are without a home through no fault of their own (owner dies for example) and are well trained and well behaved. Because so many people want a "cute puppy" these older dogs get passed over.
They will thank you for it and happily lounge on the couch (or near it) while you watch TV if that is what you want.
