We went to the dogpark again today, I met up with a friend that I work with and his english bulldog. Both our dogs are 8 months old, w/in a week of each other but his dog is about a 1/4th Tikaani's size. lol. But instead of doing the low growl that she usually does when other dogs get near her, she started sniffing back!!!! She didn't "play" persay w/ his dog but she followed her around and even got her paws a litle wet in the creek that runs through the dogpark. And she put up w/ the dozens of other dogs that came and sniffed her and she even watched them closely as they played in the water, looking as if she wanted to get in too but was too scared. I'm just so happy that she's starting to get along w/ other dogs. And she's doing better off her leash too! She stayed near me *most* of the time, only wandered off a few times to see other dogs in the distance.

Oh, AND she's housebroken almost 100% now! How exciting is that! No more accidents on the carpet!! During the day when one of us is home with her and she's not in her crate she'll come get us and walk towards the door. At night she'll whimper just enough for us to hear her and know what she wants. I'm so amazed that it only took a week but she's just doing great!

Ok, done ranting lol. I just had to share :D

congrad! ;) how did you get your dog to do that? i'm wondering because my dog Lilly has a problem with loose dogs. she find around tied ones, but when its comes to loose one she freaks out and tries to attack them. ( she was attacked by two loose dogs last summer and she still hasnt gotten over it )

umm...I'm not even gonna lie, I have no idea what I did differently lol. I just took her to the park and kept her on her leash for a while at first to make sure she'd stay close to me (she did decent until she decided she had to smell EVERY SINGLE FREAKING BUSH in the park...haha) but she just decided she was going to be "ok" w/ the other dogs. She didn't go "play" w/ any of them, but she stopped growling and she just kinda watched them or she'd go do her own thing.

Had a little setback today though. Had some friends over and they brought their 4 and 6 yr olds...both VERY well behaved kids that honestly do listen very well...and they did everything I told them to around Tikaani...and she still was growling and barking at everyone in the house. It's the first time we've had ANYONE in our apt, let alone anyone since we've had her...so I'm sure it was just unnerving for her but I didn't like the fact that she was growling at little kids (I don't *think* she'd bite them, (famous last words) but I don't want to risk it, and I hate the thought of her biting someone b/c I don't want to have to ever consider having her put down or giving her away). If anyone has any suggestions for behavior correction w/ this situation, I'm all ears.
