View Full Version : I can't see a members avatar pic...some can, some can't?

Forum member put an avatar pic onto her account. Forum members KatzNK9 and Borzoimom say they can see it. But myself and Jake2006 can't.
Why is it we can't see it???

Yellow Dog says she followed the directions I posted for her, and she must have, because some members can see the avatar pic under her username in the threads/posts...but I see nothing.

Can you help?

Did you see the screenshot I posted over there? I wonder if it is something on your end that makes you not see it???

Yes Katz, thanks :) I know that's what I'm supposed to be seeing, but its not showing.
Any suggestions of what I can do on my end? I've already refreshed the page, and signed out of the site, closed my browser, and re-entered.
Nothing.

First, I'm going to assume that my answer is NOT going to help you (sorry about that) ... but, just for double checking, there is an option under User CP, Edit Options, Visible Post Elements ... all 3 of those are checked on your options, right?

This suggestion is more likely to help ... It is possible for some pics not to show if you're out of RAM & the pics that were already in your temporary internet files are showing instead. I'd try closing your browser & clearing out your temporary internet files & then come back & look to see if you can now see it with a fully refreshed page.

Aww Katz...your helping by suggesting everything you can think of...which is great, the more help the better ;)

Just checked, yep, all 3 are checked. Good suggestion :)

I don't think its that one...

When I close out my browser, its set to clear the temp internet files, but I will double check now and see if there any "hanging" around.

I can't believe this is happening...very strange :wtf:

This is something I commonly hear (was a network administrator for years) ... it doesn't get rid of all of them, in fact, if you close your browser & then view them before deletion, I'll bet you'll be surprised how many are there ... do a manual deletion & try again. This was a common problem in a PSP tag group where I was the administrator. Just about every post had images in it & people would be able to see 90% of things posted on certain threads ... the deletion of temp files always seemed to do the trick for them. Worth a try ... and those files aren't worth having anyway.

I've done what I can to clear things up...so that's about it.
Don't you think its strange that Jake2006 is having the same problem?

I logged out, did a members search for Yellow Dog, and as all the other members avatars would show, her's didn't. It doesn't even show up when I click on her Public Profile...this is so weird.

Funny how it happened just "after" she added her avatar to her account....

Very strange indeed.
