I have a friend that is now in her 70's.. She has been a total asset to border collie rescue but her age is catching up with her. Her Daughter bought a floor " robot" to help her with her floors- and it has a timer.. WELL.. the dogs love it!!! They get to herd " this thing" and consider it a toy .. Now she has 3 of these robot floor cleaner things, set at different times to go off- and the border collies have a ball trying to herd these robots!!!!!! It stimulates the mind, they try to " herd it" and perfect for those that need to give these breeds something to do.. Just a post but if i had a border collie/ aussie- I would not waste my money on useless toys, and get a floor robot- .. Kills two birds with one stone- exercise the dog, and have the cleanest floors you ever had. !!!!

Super idea but my Shepherds love Tennis balls and Frezzies and I could not tolerate that kind of toy with them, They would attack it and totally destroy on contact. lol.

God bless her heart- and I saw this in action... the dogs were having a ball doing this! she said she would rather spend 30 bucks to have a toy that stimlates the mind- and I must say- her floors were SPOTLESS!
I was talking to one of the guys in my training class and he said he hooked a jolly ball up to a one of those poll things that has a string (you put like a volley ball on it and hit the ball around the poll) and his border collie hits the ball around like a human does....I can imagine it keeps them occupied :p

:D I'm laughing at this because I can just picture Odin running to hide and Cadence having on heck of a blast chasing one of these things from room to room. I doubt the Robot would get anything cleaned up on her watch

I do that with a remote control speed boat.My male goes bonkers for the noise it makes and will swim for as long as the boat has power.I,ve never tired a dog so fast,2omns of intense swimming will kill him,lo!!.My female won't do it cos i wont let her catch it.
For the pool,I have a RC submarine that dives, they both go bonkers to retrieve it!.
Here's some pictures:
