My red brindle girl crossed over, this afternoon. It was a beautiful spring day. The sun was warm. She was ready to go.

Her lines were CJ Fly So Free, and Buzz Around. She ran 98 races, starting on the Jacksonville Circuit, then Daytona Beach, then Valley, and ending up at Shoreline Star.

She was our fourth foster, but we knew within minutes of her arrival that she wasn't leaving our home. I only wish she had been able to stay a little while longer.

Run with the wind, sweet girl.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your much loved Lily. She was very lucky to have you in her life to provide her the joys that great dogs learn only from a loving home. I hope your many memories often bring smiles to you.

She got all the possible care she or any grey could wish for. It was her time. And she went they way she would have asked to go if she had had the voice. This noble spirit is racing her buddies up there and will run happy circles around you when you go to meet her at the Bridge, along with all the other Greys who have had the privelege of having you care for them.

Tom, I am so sorry for your loss of Lily. It is so hard, I know..........

I was just thinking of my Cody last night when we brought to the TO hospital and they led him away. He was whimpering. I will never forget it, It was the last time before we put him down that I saw him. So sad.......so sad..........*tears*

My heart goes out to you today............:(

She was about 5 1/2 when she came to us as a foster. Her first adoptive family decided they didn't want her. We told the group we would keep her, within 24 hours after she arrived. She was a journeyman racer. Not especially fast, but fast enough to have a career. She made it to Grade A racing. She had 10 1st place finishes, and I think 7 2nd place finishes, and a lot of 3rd place finishes.

She used to run for the joy of it at the dog park. She seemed very fast, there. She was a pleasure to watch.

I know I havent been active much lately, so I did miss this.
When I read the last part I was crying and I still am. I feel so sorry for you and your family. I know people say dogs are dogs, but I know that you in here understand. For me it feels like a friend telling me he lost his child. For me that is an equivilant pain. and I am truly sorry for you and your family!
as Ive seen the others say and I agree, DO NOT BLAIME yourself. What you described can just as well be Tasha when she has one of her crankperiods before heat. I totally ignore that, dogs get older they behaviour DO change. A lot of them go quieter, they can have a hard time to keep weight, sometimes they have a sniffle. They cant tell us straight out and we are only humans. I know for a fact of what Ive read in here that you are a WONDERFULL dogowner, if I was a dog I would love to live with you and your family. This wasnt your fault, and she will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge. :helpinghand:
