My Angel (indoor only cat) went missing 2 nights ago. Our garage door was open and the door from the garage to the house didn't quite get closed. Blu knows how to open the door and he and Angel went outside. Blu came back in, but we've not heard nor seen Angel since.

I fear the worst. :sad-smiley-002:

We have wild animals (kyotes, fox, coons, owls & other predator birds, etc.). Please keep her in your thoughts in case she's safe and we get lucky and find her.

Thats so sad!

Our Mojo is also an indoor only cat, and one day the door never closed just right behind me because a shoe was in the way, and before I could catch her she was -gggoooonnee-! So.. what i did was pick up one of her toys (She is very territorial over her toys) and brought it outside. It was just a plain old ball with a bell in it. I walked half a block, just ringing the bell constantly, and here she came- booting it from a neigbours backyard and in to my arms. She wanted that toy- and she wanted it now!

I hope maybe this helps you. Does your cat have any favorite toys? Maybe by playing with the noise maker toy she loves the most ( if there is one) on your front lawn for a while, she will hear it and come back. If she is not used to being outside, she may not be used to the smell of your yard if you know what I mean, because there are soo many different smells out there- so maybe the sound will help her pin-point where home really is. I feel for you, and she is in my prayers.

Thanks. We live in the country and this happened at night. We went around the house a few times calling her, but didn't go into the woods until morning. The only toys they have don't make noise, but that would be a good idea.

Here's a couple of pictures of her.

Have you thought of contacting a animal communicator to locate her for you? I have a list of some, and am even friends with one and could inquire about her prices and if she can track.

eilenej1 cats are nothing like dogs-they can be hiding under the deck and hear you calling but they won't come.
Put food out-shake the bag of food or pop a can of cat food at her feeding time. If she is a truly domestic cat, go to Home Depot and get a can of that stuff to sprinkle in your yard to keep skunks away. It is (or smells like) fox urine and it scares away a lot of the animals that might want to harm her.
Leave a bowl of food out near the garage right about at her feeding time but dont leave it out all night (who knows WHO might eat it!).
And best wishes that she makes it back home safely!

Aww, that is really sad. Mojo was just a month or so old when she ran away, and she is a pretty aggressive cat (She plays WAY too hard) and I know that if another family would have found her- they would have had her put down due to how overly ill-mannered she can be. Your cat is truly gorgeous- here are a few pics of my Mojo. Is you notice a pinkish coloring to her fur- it is because her purple harness got wet and literally dyed her fur that color- no matter how often she has a bath, it just wont go away!

I do hope she'll find her way back home safely. You must be worried sick. I would be too. Will definitely keep her in my thoughts & prayers for a safe return and happy ending to this story.

I will try putting a bowl of food out at the garage tonight. I though about it, but thought it would attract other animals. We've been keeping the garage door open about 6 to 10 inches, so she can come in if she finds her way home.

She's gotten out before, but has always come right back inside. That's why I worry something bad happened.

I don't know what an "animal communicator" is, but it sounds ritzy and expensive.

Not at all if you love her enough to pay about $100.

These are the only legit animal communicators who offer tracking services and have websites that I know of. I have some numbers also, if you wish to try them.

Most of the websites above are around $100 for tracking.

I had a barn cat go missing for 10 dyas then show up looking for his food. Freaked me totally out I thought he was gone and never coming home again.

I hope your kitty comes home soon.

Any update?
And about the food, youare absolutely right about attracing other animals. That's why I would leave it out for 1 hour, 2 tops. I had an adventure with a semi-feral last summer with this kind of thing.

No luck yet. :sad-smiley-002:

I'm pretty grumpy because she's my special girl. She sleeps next to me most of the time and loves me the best of us all.

I still recommend a animal communicator, but you probably think I'm nuts :o

I don't think you're nuts - but I don't really have that much faith to pay a stranger $100 for a non-verifiable "skill".

I wish you the best of luck in finding your cat. I know how it feels to have a cat go missing. My cat went outside one day with my dad and my brother, but she never came back in. We found her the next morning in our shed. Hopefully your cat hasn't gone too far and is safe. :)
