Eventually, I plan to move to a farm.
My dad had a couple Rough Coated Collies as a kid, and I've done a little research and they seem like good dogs.
Can anyone give me info on the breed or web site names of breeders in the US?

My cousins have had Rotties for a while, and I decided that Rotties are really nice dogs. Of all the books, I can't get good information on their temperament. I would ask my cousins, but they don't breed, nor did they train their Rotts very much, and I would like another resource.

Thanks in advance!

You might try the American Rottweiler Club http://www.amrottclub.org/

make sure you are researching your breeders find out what their shipping requirements are. when i bought mia i had her ground shipped to me as i felt it was easier on her than having her flown in.

i have never owned either breed you are referring too but as a child a friend of mine had a collie. very nice dog...lots of grooming :)

a friend of mine had a rottie for years. petunia was a sweetheart and as gentle as she was big. you may want to check your insurance and city/county laws concerning a rottie or simular breed. *sighs* insurance companies will not insure you and some cities/counties have made it illeagal to own a rottie *rolls eyes*

Sounds good. I'm also considering a Blue Lacy. www.lacydog.com

I think Lacys seem like pretty cool dogs. Their history is interesting as well.

They seem like cool dogs, but you may want to check out your local shelter too, since they often have great dogs who need a home.
