Finally! My PC was acting crummy, I really needed to defrag but the volume was locked for some stupid reason so I HAD to shutdown.

Lo and behold when I rebooted the 60 % progress on supervillin was still there!!!

Thats good to know. After a few days, I need to shut the lap tops off to cool off. I am glad it will restart again..
Tell me- even if the computer off, does it continue on the project or does it stop it or loose what it has done..

Except in very rare (unlucky) cases, work will resume where you left off. Be sure to manually close the folding program and not just let Windows do it when you shut down as that is a major cause of folding data loss.

Thanks for letting me know that. I haven't been doing that so far ... will try to remember that ... currently at 1000/5000 for my first fold.:)

My lap tops both of them sit on marble. Its clean and cooler but I was wondering about reboots.. How do I shut off the folding before windows?

It depends on the version of the program you're running. If you're using the graphical version, right click on the little icon down by the clock and select Exit (or Quit...whichever one is there). If you're using the console version, just click on the X at the upper right corner. Those are the two most common versions. If you're using something else, post back, and we'll figure it out.

Here are a couple of screenshots that might help.

What gets confusing is that if you have the program open and click the "X" all the way in the upper right, it will NOT shut down the program. All it does it return it to the tray. (Thumbnail on left)

If you want to shut it down (which is a good idea before shutting down the PC / laptop) you have to right -click and open up that little menu to get to the line that says "exit". (Thumbnail on right) Click that and hopefully it will save everything and resume where it left off the next time you boot up.

If this doesn't work don't :swearing: me--I am not very good at this and have lost plenty of WUs in progress. :p
