lol...nope...mine...all mine...all I want are pictures now though...O.o

These are amazing dogs though...right now in america alot of people are trying to work on drive which is why you see alot of whites in herding or service capabilities...but I also want to be able to produce dogs with the possibilities of SchH, and Daisy has some blood in her to do it :D

Shepherds are so versatile...I love them for it because you can do just about anything with them...and then they try to climb into your lap.... :p They dont make very good lap dogs from what I have heard...I saw one really funny pic of a big GSD pretty much lying on top of a kid on a couch...both were asleep...it was very cute. :D

WOW, Kira is so CUTE!!!! :D

Fede - Daisy's uncle (mother's litter mate) is Aico vom Bruckner Landl...who is a multple champion and has earned a OPO1 and FH3. Daisy's sire, Moonshine Miraja has earned his BH. Her grandshire X-dream Amaroq of the White Mountain Austria has his IPO1, and OPO3, and SchH3, and his sire, Quanto of the White Mountain Austria also has his BGH1. I am kind of hoping to see how this puppy does in one or two of the working events...be it any of these or in herding or the like...I think it is important to earn a champion rating, but these dogs are working dogs, so I think that

Cumano brings brings alot of the american lines to the table...and this is a pretty impressive outcrossing which is why it is popular...I think there are pups going to a couple of the corners of the world. We originally thought there were only going to be three pups and there ended up being 9  .

Again...I should have pictures tomorrow (lol...isnt it later for you too :p Italy is six hours ahead of here that I recall :p)

I am digging through Cumano's information right now...and will let you know if I find more...but if you can you should have a look at the Vivid Daydreams website...my breeder is a gifted photographer and has some amazing photos! Lemme know if you need the link and I can PM it to you :)

I have Shepherds. I import from Germany and Netherlands so far of West German Lines. I have a total of 7 and two puppies from Gillion n Inko. I love the loyalty, high intelligence, close bonds, protection naturally, just love Shepherds.
I try to breed for the red/black pigment as that is what wins at Seiger shows all West German Shepherds compete. Quite exciting and I have been invited so many times to attend the big Seiger show in Germany in Sept, but have no desire to go to Germany.
Thanks for starting such a nice thread and I must admit I love all dogs mix and others.

I had a look at Vivid Daydreams website! It turned out I had already seen it a while ago, when I was looking for a breeder! I also had some pictures of Daisy and Belle-Bela saved on my PC…That’s why Amarushaya looked familiar to me!:D

I’ve also found Von der Nordhelle website…I have to say, Cumano is really an impressive dog! And he also has a beautiful expression…
Daisy too…she has a promising genealogy! I know that Amaroq has breed a lot of valid subjects (I love that dog and I hope my puppy will be Amaroq’s son, or grandson  …) , and Moonshine Miraja seems to be one of his most successful offspring…

So, I see you are going to get an hell of a puppy!!! Lucky you!:D

You know, one of my dreams is to breed White Shepherds (and Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs too )…I think I may start breeding, one day…I don’t see it coming very soon, anyway, but I’ll get this puppy next year, and I will also go looking for a Czecho Wolfdog pup soon after, and than we’ll see how things went!

God, I really love these dogs! How can someone live without them?

Keep me informed about your puppy!

Thank you Ceph kindly. I had very bad luck with this first litter and lost five pups. I am going to send photos I took today, the two I saved are on high calorie puppy food and eating well now and doing better. Was touch n go for a couple days, vet kept them over night, they got tooooo cold and I had it hot but they needed in 95 to 98 degrees. AWWww the work of breeding and the luck. Some 15 litters and never went through this first time for male n female. They will reach normal size of female and male is large. Just a slow start. Woe is me.?

Anyway, I said, this photo is just priceless!
It is... have no words to describe (and that's no surprising :D ...)

Can I make a poster out of this????:wubsmiley:

Those pictures remember me of a long lost friend…I’ll tell you a story. The very reason why I absolutely love White Shepherds…
When I was a child (about four), a friend of my father had a German shepherd bitch which gave birth to a bunch of puppies (I don’t remember how many)
One of them was white, and he was the smaller of the litter. My father friend thought he was albino, that he was unhealthy...
No one wanted that puppy, and the owner of the mom had already chosen a “normal” puppy to keep with him, so he wanted to take the white puppy to the local pound.

Then my father said he didn’t mind to keep the puppy, he didn’t want him in a pound, so he brought him home. My uncle called him White Ace Lancaster, and we nicknamed him Lance…
After a while, the vet told us he wasn’t albino, because his nose and eyes were black…he was a white german shepherd, and he had absolutely nothing wrong with his health!

I remember him as a dream…He was with us for about one and half a year, then someone poisoned him to get into our seaside house to rob …

I was young, and he was with us only for a short time, but I remember him as a dream…I think he was the very reason why I’ve fallen in love with dogs…after him, there’s always been a dog in my house.

I discovered the white German shepherd and followed the birth of the Swiss breed when I was older and started collecting information about dogs…I don’t really think Lance was a purebred…his own parents were family dogs without pedigree…but surely he was a beautiful white shepherd!

I’ll look for a picture of Lance somewhere, If I can find it I’ll post it!!!

hehehehe, its a great dog. If you are interested in information there are these links that may help you out some :)

Their dogs are amazing and the webpage has some great information on how the swiss breed their dogs for 'swiss quality'.
http://www.whiteshepherd.info/introduction.htm < International White Shepherd Federation - they have some good info and some very pretty dogs!!!
http://www.berger-blanc-international.com/english/index.html < this is another foreign group, but a bunch of Daisy's ancestors are in their stud book :) And alot of their studs are of drooling quality.
http://www.wsgenetics.org/whats_new.htm < this is the group of people that are surveying the white shepherds. Basically this is an effort to make sure the dogs are being bred properly and also let people know the problems that occur in our dogs and the measures we are taking to prevent it.

Fede - lol, I can imagine you can...I just want to double check with my breeder and see what she thinks since she took the picture. You're story was also a good one. People sometimes dont understand why I ended up loving the white dogs as much as I do...but I think we each have our own experiences when we fall in love with a particular breed that makes us want to be with them more.

My story with shepherds (I dont think I have told this before) has to do with being in Switzerland...which is why I ended up going with a breeder from overseas. I was skiing down the mountain two years ago with my father and we stopped at a resteraunt for a drink and a snack. There was this wonderful white long haired dog there..and instead of eating I stayed and played with him. He had an amazing temperment and he was so beautiful...we also talked to the owners in very broken french and we sort of got the impression that this dog was a mountain rescue dog :)

So we sadly left, and then ended up coming home a few days later, and I told my dad I wanted a dog...weeeell, he fell in love with the dog too! But we couldnt for the life of us figure out what kind of dog it was! We were thinking german shepherd, but the hair was long and fluffy, and he didnt have the angulation that American dogs have (I dont mind it so much but my dad was raised with corgi's and didnt much care for the angulation). We thought for a while that the dog was a Husky-Shepherd cross...which is how we ended up adopting Jay :p. But I continued to look and after researching forever I came accross the swiss site above, translated it and found my breed!!!

And last year we went back to see the wonderful BBS, and that is when I decided I was going to have one of these dogs...I found out a little later that there were american breeders also, but by then I had already settled on Mrs. Harmsen and Daisy :p However, I have joined the AWSA and the UWSC and joined the WS genetics list serve, and I am amazed with this community. Everyone is so helpful! lol, I think its funny that sometimes you fall in love with the dogs, but the people who own them arent great....with these dogs the owners are amazing as well!!! :)

:D Moonshine is wonderful!
That was a great video! Thanks for sharing!

Bossanova’s video, I think I already saw that, a while ago, I really don’t remember where…that dog did a good job!
Bossanova is one of my favourite…he has VPG2, IPO 3 and SchH 3, if I'm not mistaken. And he ispretty successful in show too, unlike many work dogs…and X-dream Amaroq is also the same, a functional and beautiful dog!

And isn’t Daisy’s mother also related to Aico vom Brückner Landl (http://www.weisser-schaefer.com/html/home_frame.html)? That’s another dog with both show and work good results! I Remember that stud had a litter with my favourite bitch, Athena Ancilia (she is did very well in expo, till now) about a year or two ago, and I absolutely went crazy because that was another perfect match I missed, between two dogs which perfectly completed each other (from my ignorant point of view…)! But I had to pass that time too, just too soon for me to pick my puppy. And this month it happened again, Athen x Amaroq puppies are going to be wonderful, I think…I have been postponing the occasion to get a puppy for almost two years now!!! Awwwww, that’s not fair!!!! I’m going to cry! :sad-smiley-002:

Ok, I’m watching the positive outcome  ... I got a wonderful collie mix instead! Now I ask myself how could I live without Aries till now! I gave up to Athena and Amaroq’s puppy because of him (I don’t like rising more than one puppy at time, I really want to fully concentrate on everyone of my dogs while they are youg…), but I’m very happy things went that way…

Anyway (sorry, I didn’t mean to go OT, I got carried away :p …) it’s difficult to find dogs which both has good working results and show results, often not because the dog isn’t good in both, but because the breeder tends to focus a dog career on work OR show!

A lot of white Shepherds from European lines gather a lot of show results, but they have never been seriously put to work! It’s good that they have to pass a character test to be used in breeding…

I tend to value dogs with good show results if they have at least parents or grandparents who demonstrate to be good in work trials…

So, as I said, your puppy's genealogy is quite impressing! She cames from really successful subjects both in show and work! Really smart choice you made with Daisy! :applaud: :thumb:

PS: after you made me notice her, Daisy officially went on my favourite list :D

Fede - I like listening to what you have to say :p You are so much closer to the BBS than I am just by nature of where you live...I only get to be there once or twice a year :p

I think that in a working breed working titles of any sort are important for breeding...which is what I really hope to do with my puppy :)

With that being said can you all pray for the pups please...three of them are sick right now and we arent 100% sure what is going on.

I love that Sutumer Grund website...it has so many resources for the Whites people.

I do have a question though because I see it in alot of their dogs. What is HD B? I know A is good...but I am not sure about B.

In the US we have Excellent, Good and Fair...and most breeders that I know of wont breed Fair. Is HD B like our version of Good or is it kind of a mix between Good and Fair? I think that on another scale Normal is like our Excellent and Good, and Fast Normal is like our Borderline and Fair....but I dont remember if there was a third one...

Yikes....I wish they would make one test!

Thanks :)

I’ll tell you what I know about FCI conventional language…This is more or less what I was able to figure out while getting crazy over pedigrees, blood lines and going through the insane endeavour of analyzing the incidence of dysplasia among the whole family tree of the potential parents of my future puppy… :D

About Hip Dysplasia HD:

(HD-A) or (HD 0) or (HD - ): it means no signs of HD at all, they define the conformation of the hip joint as “excellent”, and these dogs are used for breeding.

(HD-B) or (HD 1) or (HD +/- ): it means that the hip joint is almost normal, there are almost undetectable signs of inconsistency between the head of the femur and its lodging, but the dog does not suffer any physical problem at all. They can be safely used for breeding too.

(HD-C) or (HD 2) or (HD + ): the dog suffer a light form of hip dysplasia. There is a detectable anomaly in the hip joint. These dogs aren’t normally used for breeding. They use them anyway when a breed can count very few subjects useful for breeding programs, to vary the genetic patrimony, but they can have litters only with HD-A subjects.

(HD-D) or (HD 3) or (HD ++ ): medium incidence of hip dysplasa. They obviously cannot breed.

(HD-E) or (HD 4) or (HD +++ ): it means acute form of dysplasia.

About Elbow Dysplasia ED:

ED-0: No signs of elbow dysplasia.

ED-1: very light form of osteoarthritis. They can still breed, but I think they can have litters only with ED-0 subjects.

ED-2: a medium form of displasia. Cannot breed.

ED-3: acute form of dysplasia.

And I think this is as it goes ;) …

Thats awsome :)

Thanks so much...I had a basic idea but I was not 100% sure...what I learned about the american system came from the OFA website...and I wasnt sure where to look for the european hip scores :)
