View Full Version : Puppy chewing plants
can anyone tell me how to stop my 5 month old puppy from eating my new plants which iv just put in my garden, iv put down pepper spray but its not worked. thanks

Try spreading Tabasco or any other chile pepper sauce directly to the leaves on the plants. Just the more accessible leaves she's most likely to snack on, usually there's no need to do the entire plant.

Are you out there with the puppy?
yes im outside as well but its a big garden and iv got 2 dogs so its hard to watch her every min.

I have 2 dogs as well. When I have them out I'm always out with them too. But I keep a throw chain in my pocket for long-distance corrections. >^^;<
If my pup starts getting into something, I fling the throw chain towards the ground near him and growl out a loud "AHHH!" He jumps back several feet, startled out of what he was doing. I then call him to me and praise him for NOT getting into things lol.
When I don't have time to keep an eye on him out there, I leash him. You don't want the puppy to learn that it's only wrong when you don't have time to watch him.
