Birmingham man jailed / fighting dogs

you've probably seen the uk news today

a birmingham man who turned part of his home into a dog fighting arena
has been jailed for 4 months..
he admitted keeping 11 pitbull terriers and causing unnecessary suffering.
to 3 of them... huh? 3 of them id say they all suffered..:(
the 28 year old also admitted owning a dog fighting venue.
one animal at his house had 157 seperate wounds while another had an ear
almost severed off and a broken pelvis...:mad:

on the news clip it showed a video that had been siezed..it showed a young pitbull terrier being forced into the ring the other dog attacked him and he
tryed to get out the ring yelping but a man just kicked him back in....{im finding it really hard not to swear..but you can imagine whats going through my mind}
i cant describe what i'd like to happen to this monster and all involved..

so sad and so sick....
and people say these dogs are to blame.....

i am absolutely furious that this man is only going to serve !8! weeks in prison, yet all those dogs will now die. i thought the video footage was sickening, especially the fact that you could see that the smaller dog he was kicking was petrified and didnt want to fight.

my mother saw it and told me the details...

the saddest thing is ...now these poor dogs will be the ones to be
punished..with death..
while in 1 months time {cos he will only do half his sentance}
he will be walking round like all he did was pinch somet out of boots

Exactly, :mad: I truly wish there were stricter animal abuse laws. It really takes a sick individual to do that to a defenseless animal. :madsmiley:

I can't watch the footage, either. It makes me cry just to know about it.
This man is so sick. If he did this to a person, it would be much worse for him...thing is, where would he draw the line?

No one should blame the breed. I have been plenty upset with situations in my neighborhood, but will only blame the owners.

Oh no, can't go there can't watch footage. It's bad enough to hear the stories. After I joined this site last month & read about the woman who received her dogs head in the mail I had to stay away. So sometimes you may not see me on here - I just need to get away. I take it all very hard. Yet I know to "do something about it" you need to stay informed. It's a catch 22.

What can I say except it's terrible and justice not correctly done. IT'S A CRIME! INJURIES OCCURED!! He should have YEARS of Prison! Maybe other people will stop doing it too!

I'm a PitBull lover but im not sure of the legislation here. I know a breeder and the dog are just adorable...everytime a saw then I fall in love...:o Unfortunately, they have a bad reputation (I consider everybody that say pitbull are a violent and deadly breed RACIST AND ...)! If I could bring the 2 pitbull (from the breeder) in a public place and show people how nice they are! Of course, they look strong and powerfull, even (for some) a little scary but when they just come to see you and lay on the back trying to lick your face to death:o ...how can you say that a bad breed and bad dog?... Because people watch those videos and see dogs fighting and know it's terrible... but don't see that's the dog the victims...

That sick jerk (i have worse things to say but ill keep those to myself). 8 weeks!!!!! He's a murderer thats what he is. Unfortunately I too live in a state where animal abusers can get off with such obscenely short punishments- in some cases just a small fine...like its a traffic violation or something. All those poor animals...

Its amazing really - you would probably get a longer sentence for stealing a car! An example should be made of these people as what deterent is there! 8 weeks! Its a disgrace. :mad:

Ugh some people just make me sick. He should, in addition to serving a much longer jail sentence, be forced to go to a Pit Bull Fanciers club and answer to the owners of some pits. I bet some of them would like to take a swing at him. I sure would!
