Hi there, feel guilty my first post and already asking advice :o

i have two very young dogs one is 7 months old and the other is 4 months old.

the 7 month one is a female x-breed called Tessa who has just had her first season and is awaiting neutering, we got her as a puppy from a rescue center.

the 4 month old is also a female x-breed, found her in a bin liner with 4 other pups, kept her as she took to use straight away (found out it is a belgium sheppard cross labrador)

the problem i am having is they both sleep down stairs in the living room, and they chew every thing and any thing, and wee all over the place, if you seperate them, then no problems, but unfortunatley it is no longer possible for me to have them in separate rooms.

any advice please.

Tony

My advice would be to crate them obviously in a crate large enough to accommodate the two comfortably. Newspapers at one end and bedding at the other. The crate is also handy if you have to leave them alone during the day and stops them chewing electric cable etc therefore keeps them safe. They will also feel secure. Hope this helps.

I'd suggest getting two crates that are the appropriate size for each dog when they are full grown (if you cn figure that out). I had the same problem with my two dogs, and although they love each other I think there could always come that moment when one of them went too far . . . if you know what I mean. Especially with two females. When they are mature they might become a little competetive - or maybe not, but they could. My dogs are side by side in their crates and don't cry or complain about it at all. Sometimes they even get in there on their own and sleep.

2 crates large enough for them when they are fully grown, but it might need to be blocked off so that the pup only has enough room to go in and turn around in. You don't want them to have the room to potty in one corner and lay in another. The point of crate training is cuz they don't like to potty in their sleeping space. They should only be allowed to potty outside. Letting them potty in the house will get them confused and can take longer to potty train.

A crate is like a big cage with a door on it with latches. You can put the dogs bedding in it & its toys & use it to lock the dogs up out of harms way whilst you are asleep or out, it also means they are not able to mess in the house whilst you are not around making house training quicker & easier. As you can see my 2 are side by side.
