I have one more week before I can bathe Galina. Man- she needs it! This room smells like a combo of dirty dog, and female coming out of heat.. I didnt bathe her before.. ( she was fine at the time..)
Now well uh Galina- don't take this wrong.. but PEE- UUUU!
I was told not to use any irratants on her. I do have " the stuff" but thats really more of a coat conditioner and does have a silicon base.. Alot of the dry shampoos say " do not use on pregnant females" and I have made myself nutso searching the web..
Anyone have any ideas.. ( short of spraying the dog with fabreez.. lol.. )

With cats who are coarse-coated, fuller's earth is often used ... just work it around in the coat & brush it out. Natural choice too.

What about simply mixing water with vinagar,to take the smell off.Don't put it on her private parts, though!.

That what I did when I spayed priska,I hose her away from the scar and the smell was definately better.
I was also told you could use oatmeal puppy shampoo on a pregnant dog but not put it, close to her private part and to hose her, careful.

I spray Gino inside all the time with half apple cider vinegar and half water mix I have made, he loves it and makes him smell good, shiny silky coat which would be a NO NO if showing him as they did in Germany before coming here at one year. I love using it and spray all over him. No dog smell but a dog in heat, peeuuuuuuu big time. I can smell them outside. Girle i heat of drip now in kennel and do not know yet for certain if Sashe is bred???? Darn darn

Oh.. sorry-.. let me explain. yes you can bathe a pregnant dog, but right now, is galinas last few days with an incission area. They said not to let her get wet for 14 days. She was surgically artifically inseminated. Thats why I cant bathe her right now.. And then she will be washed with a shampoo that is safe for a pregnant dog. The skin can absorb chemicals, so some shampoos are safe and some are not. Anything that goes in her, or on her could affect her and the pups.
