With its youthful exuberance and affection the Boxer makes an excellent pet for families with children.

The boxer is a very intelligent breed. The learn quickly, are independant thinkers and eager to learn new things.

Energetic, playful, loyal and family oriented are words often used to describe this fun loving dog. They are amazing dogs with a playfulness that does not diminish from the puppy stage through to their senior years.

If you are interested in a 'lap-dog' and think by getting a larger breed you will avoid a dog wanting up in your lap, getting a Boxer could be a mistake.
The Boxer is a lap dog and wants nothing more than to be with its owners.

This was taken from the VicDog June Gazette.

My personal opinion:

I have owned many different breeds of dog, maltese, chihuahua, lowchen, pomeranian, tibetan spaniel, irish setter, golden retriever, border collie, australian cattle dog and of course the boxer.

I have a large family of children and my boxers have always been 100% safe around them. they are loyal and devoted dogs, brave when needed and cuddly when you are upset. Like many breeds of dogs, they pick up your mood easily and behave apropriately. If you want to run and play, they are there. if you want to sit quietly and watch TV, they will be either on your lap or at your feet.

They are slow to mature both mentally and physically, but they are one of the most loyal family dogs i have ever had anything to do with.

Just my impression of the Boxer for anyone interested.

Life is too short for us humans to live with all of the breeds isn't it?
