Seems there's a rash of puppy baths. I logged on to tell about Max's bath and see a few others. Anyway, this is about his 3rd bath (mainly to get him used to it) and he LOVES them. Hubby does the baths, but I stepped in to watch for a few minutes. Max would stick his nose under the running water and paw at the drain like a mad man. Then hubby discovered a trick by accident. He dropped a treat and Max saw it sitting on the bottom of the tub - about 4 to 6 inches of water in the tub. Max stuck his snout down there and ate the treat. He lays down in the water, rolls, and generally just has a bath.
Yep - we're getting him a kiddie pool!!! :Snorkle:

The kiddie pool works wonders in the summer heat. Ozzy loved his last year & so far, we haven't filled it this year but I'm sure we're not long away from doing it.

lol i dread bathing my dogs, 50 lbs may not sound like alot, but when it becomes dead weight and i have to carry them into the bathroom with paws bracing against the walls of the hallway, and manage to slam the bathroom door shut before the bolt away, and then figure out a way to get them INTO the bathtub and tie them to the handrails (yes our tub has handrails because hubbys grandparents used to live here) and then get completly soaked while trying to wash the dog off.... hmmm yah i hate bathtime!!!! and i have 3 hounds that are all the same when it comes to that awful time, if they even hear the word they run and hide!!!!! hopefully the new pup isnt going to be so bad about them lol

I've got to get Austin (lab) a kiddie pool this year, so he can have it in his running kennel. But we have a river near by and we have a pond in the backyard! He loves water!!!

It takes my yorkshire terrier poppy a good few hours before she'll talk to me again, after a bath:( . She turns into a drowned rat. She then goes crazy afterwards, running about and nuzzling into everything, does anybody else's dog do this when they get wet?

Thats great! It's always easier to bath a dog when they like the bath;) Syd loves the bath but Palm isn't used to it yet.

Yes Kat, my girl does this. I bet if we had a dust bath she would roll in it afterward. She is not too ladylike! :D
