Hi everyone, I'm new here and a new puppy owner and I have a question. I've read up on how puppies sleep for quite a time during the day and only wake up to play, eat, and relieve themselves. Can anyone make me a generic schedule of how a puppy's day goes?

Like this:

8:00 AM, wake up, then bathroom
9:00 AM, eat

for example,

I can't really do this on my own right now but I'm reading up and if anyone could help me it would be awesome.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Well this might not be the best shedule, but I'm going to use this on Basil... i hope it works, I too, was looking for a shedule and I found this book with a sample shedule and I used that one mixed with mine

This is mine:

9:30am: Potty
9:45am:Breakfast
10:00am:Potty
Free time.......
10:45:Potty
Free time.......
Noon-12:00:Potty
12:15:Lunch
12:30:Potty
Free time........
6:00PM: Dinner
6:15PM:Potty
And then bed time when you like.....
And you may have to get up in the middle of the night to go potty again... my time is 12:30-12:40AM

Hope that helps,

Sheltie

Thank you very much! I appreciate your help. Hmm...does anyone else have schedules to share? I'd just like to get a general "average" of things.

Well, to be honest, every puppy is different and you'll probably need to take a few days and learn his/her schedule.

Yes, I've heard that about puppies, but I've also heard that some puppies adapt quickly to their schedule, too.

You should make your own schedule to fit in with your own routine.

Just remember the important points, like meals, toilet, sleep, play and you should be able to get in a routine in no time.

Yeah, the puppies don't read what is on the internet, they make their own schedules sometimes!

I just wanted to add that if you have an 8 week old pup you will probably have to get up every 2-3 hours during the night to take your pup out. It is not nice for them to have to sleep in a crate in which they have pottied in. So you cant really leave then in there from 1 am to 9 am
