Couple of strays found by my daughters in the neighborhood today. They are quite friendly and rather lean looking - may have been on their own a few days now.

Any help is appreciated. No decision on keeping yet.

Awwww they are adorable!!!!!!:D Well if you aren't going to keep them, 1st I guess, ask around, then ask family or friends that you think would be responsible enough to care for puppies, and if those dont work, maybe just go to a humane society.... where they can be adopted out.

Just some ideas...

Awww, they're so cute;) My vote is definately for hound mixes. How big/tall are they? Their color/markings, head shape & wrinkles make me say Rhodesian Ridgeback mixes. They are a large breed of sighthound (bred in Africa to hunt lions) and pretty rare though. Not even all purebred Ridgies have the distinctive line of hair that grows in the opposite direction.

Agreed. I'd say Ridgeback mixes as well. They are quite adorable!

They are about 14" tall to their back and with head up about 18-20". Length is harder to get with them running around, but 20-22" approx.

I didn't have a scale handy, but I would guess at 12-15 lbs.

I'll have to see if someone local is doing some breeding - we are in a rural area.

They behave quite well and don't run into the house with the door open or anything and they walk well with a person even though they don't know the commands(I think). I had the kids open up the cat's collars just to see if they were in fact leash trained. The dogs must not be used to a collar - slipping it over their neck made them act like a lead weight had been attached - they tucked tail and laid down and wouldn't move. Or maybe it was the cat scent.

They are very adorable! I would guess some type of pit cross. All the ridgeback crosses I have seen, seem to have the ridge down there back. I can’t see one by this pick. Do they have one?

No, I cannot tell that any ridge is present.

My brother-in law had a ridge back cross which did not have a ridge. No matter what breed they are they are gorgeous.

Something in there says Beagle, but I seem to be outnumbered! :p

Can you tell how old they are? Check the teeth...

I agree with beagle. They just have that beagle look. Don't see the ridgeback at all.
