Hi all, I just got my puppy to the vet today and he gave me some Advantage to stop her fleas. The directions were pretty straightforward but some of the medicine fell off my puppy onto the ground. Is it okay if a little bit falls off? Thanks!

As long as most of it made it on to the pup, it should still give the full protection (surely there's a bit of a safety margin built in). Our vet claims that the first application is good for nearly 3 months with each subsequent application lasting for 1 month (we don't count on that extra initial protection, though you may want to research it).

Please, I would like to know something,
Well only about a week and a couple of days until we get Basil:D . But see in our neighborhood, there are STUPID{excuse my language} neighbors who let there dogs roam. And most people can't afford to take their dogs to the vet for proper care, actually, on our whole block, from what I see it is only our family and a couple who own a beautiful GSD. And since most people dont take care of their dogs, I'm really concerned about fleas and ticks, I am doing everything in my power to get rid of the pests, but I'm not sure if I'm going over board with this or not. I have a organic flea/tick yard spray that I'm using, and one that you sprinkle around the yard, I'm thinking of buying another brand of yard spary, and I have a flea/tick shampoo for Basil and I think we are getting frontline from the vet when we take Basil for her shots. Am I going a little to far with this? Should I hold off on the 2nd brand I was thinking of buying? { The other brands last about 5 mos. and its only been around 1 in a half mos.} Please I need your advice, I don't want to harm Basil, and my other pets!!!!!!!:(
Thank you for your time, and please reply,
Sheltie

I wouldn't mix the brands in the yard as they could interact with each other. You need to check with your vet whether the frontline is ok to use with shampoo. You will give yourself ulcers with all this worry Laren - LOL
I know, you are excited about getting Basil and you are concerned that you are doing the right thing. But nature has a way of making things right.
Can't wait until you go to collect your pup.

why "Basil" im intrigued as to how you arrived at this name for your new baby. Is it after the herb of the same name? p.s. frontline is the best!

I was thinking about getting something to spray on our yard, but what is stopping me is that Sophia likes to eat grass. She also likes to lick it after it has rained. Nothing I do or say will stop her, and I would hate to have her eat the stuff that would be on the grass if I were to spray.
