Getting my dachshund

hi im gettin my daschund sunday she is a longhaired daschund and is black and tan she is the first one iv owned and iv always wanted one any tips you wanna give me will be very welcome :D

Hi Good luck with your new pyppy. I still have 2 Min LH Dachies one of 12 years old and one of 8 yrs and they are a lovely breed, so friendly though can be very vocal if someone comes to the door or passes by the back fence in the garden. When you get your puppy and have specific questions to ask I will be only too pleased to answer if it is somthing I have exprienced or can help with. Are you in the UK or where? Just wondered is in the UK I know some of the breeders of elsewhere then obviously I don't.

I was going to get a long haired daschund before I got Hayabusa the Whippet. I love them to death!! Tan and black are cute.. but MAN.. have you ever seen a cream colored one? Can I say: TO DIE FOR! Lol

I was at a dog show a few months back, and saw a long haired Dachsund (My first one, I had only ever seen the short haired version) and was very taken with it....You are sooo lucky to be getting such a cute little furbaby!!

I have a mini long chocolate dapple called Percy. One thing I would say is do not, under any circumstances, let them get fat as that is asking for trouble with their backs. Even though they are small dogs they can take quite a bit of exercise, mine go out for 2 hours a day in total (2 1 hour walks) and he is fit and healthy, nicely muscled.
They are very loyal dogs and affectionate.

hi thanks for the replies im still getting used to the sight took me ages to find my post lol

right she will b 8 weeks on the 27th wen she is having her first jab and a vet check yes i am from lancing near brighton in the uk the breeders r shaun and hayley warton they r from shropshire and they r so well looked after iv been told bout the daschunds diet they r giving a diet sheet, bowl , blanket and worming and jab records wiv her and a 3kg bag of food
which i thought was brill erm wot else lol

i will posting pics the second i get home with my lil baby

Hi sounds as if she is going to be spoiled rotten :) Don't recognise the name of the breeders but do you know what their affix is ? and do they show their dachies? You must be getting really excited. Roll on Sunday Remember to take towels with you just incase of accidents or should the puppy be car sick. Have a safe journey ro pick up your puppy and look forward to lots of pics.

:confused: i cant remember their affix but yes she does show them and some of her other dogs too the litter my girl is coming from was breed for showing so she is lovely wen i get her i will let u kno the affix

urs r gorgeus a woman around the corner from me has one that colour and one black and tan yeah lots of towels lol

and her name is gucci hence the username mumm to gucci :D
