I have been reading a lot more information on raising our pups and they all seem to echo the same advice (at least many of them I'm finding through google) and I feel like I'm doing something wrong by these standards.
(reference this site for ex. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=2&cat=1651&articleid=916 )
Our pups are just barely up and "walking" (kinda stumbling around) and they're 22 days old.
We moved them out of the bathroom and have one of those "soft-pens" by Petnation that's set up in the living room. We put down a tarp, and then a scrap piece of carpet and covered that w/ newspaper and have a few blankets for them to lay on, on one side of the pen. At night or when we have to go away for any period of time longer than 30 min. they go back to the bathroom (we tried leaving them and mom in the pen while we left one evening and she tore down the pen, shredded the newspapers up EVERYWHERE, and there were puppies all over the house...lets not even get into what a site it was...). But we don't have the newspaper covered w/ anything else...and that site above got me thinking that that's why they aren't walking strongly yet???? B/c they don't have the best of traction on it. But I'm not sure what else to set down that won't be havic to clean up.
We're starting w/ a small waterdish tonight and tomorrow will start blending up food for them, but I read somewhere that it's good to mix up w/ yogurt (especially since we don't have puppy milk supplement)?? Any particular TYPE of yogurt I should go w/ if this is ok?
I have a dozen more concerns but not coming to mind at the moment. But any more help is greatly appreciated.
