Have you heard about this legend?
In medieval times, a couple had a dog and a little baby. One day a snake entered the house and went for the baby. The dog saw the snake and killed it just before it could bite the baby. When the parents came in and saw the blood on the baby and on the dog's face,hinking that the dog attacked the baby, the father took the axe and killed the dog. But then they found the dead snake and realised that they made a terrible mistake.
They started to praise the hero and soon people started worshiping tht dog. It was one of the things the church fought against those days- heretics.
