My beautiful girl Saathi was put to sleep 2 weeks ago after a very short illness. She was only 6. The specialist thinks it was a haemolytic anaemia. The only symptom she showed was rapid weight loss. She had numerous transfusions but her spleen just kept eating up the red blood cells. Then her heart played up so they couldn't operate. She was so thin, and yellow from the jaundice. I had to let her go and what a hard decision it was. I was with her at the time, then brought her home to rest with all my other furkids who have gone to the Bridge. I cannot understand how such a big strong girl could deteriorate so fast. R.I.P. my darling! I miss you so much.

That must have been so hard for you-I am very sorry to hear that this beautiful girl got so sick so young. She does look like she was a big strong healthy girl. http://www.geocities.com/mymixedbreeddog/smileys/notsmileys/rainbow.gif

Thank you everyone for your wishes. I am sure Saathi is keeping an eye on me still as she did when she was with me. I take comfort in knowing that. I am starting another thread to tell a story about a gift that I am sure Saathi sent to me.

I'm so sorry. I lost a Greyhound to auto-immune hemolytic anemia in April. She went from running in the park, to her grave in a little over 5 days. It is, indeed, swift. I know how helpless you felt, and how frustrating and horrifying it was to watch the decline. Please accept my condolences.
